About this clinic

What is youth speed and agility training?

Youth speed and agility training develops how young athletes accelerate, decelerate, change direction, and react under pressure — the movements that separate players in real sport. This clinic runs for athletes aged 14–16 in small groups (typically 8–12), coached by Darren J Paul, PhD (CSCS, NASM). Each session is structured: purposeful movement prep, technical coaching of starting, stopping, and redirecting, reactive tasks that layer in decision-making, then competitive work so skills transfer to the pitch, court, or field. It is not generic cone drills — it's proper athletic development, calibrated for where the athlete is right now, with a safety-first, age-appropriate progression. Held in the Tampa Bay area at Wesley Chapel District Park Turf Soccer Fields 1.

We don't just train athletes—we develop performance using the same principles that build elite talent.

Built around the four physical qualities that underpin high-level sport: speed, deceleration, change of direction, and rotational power, integrated with the strength, conditioning, and movement foundations that make those qualities transferable to competition.

Every drill is honed with purpose, providing technical feedback and individualised corrections rather than simply chasing repetitions.

This is purposeful athlete development, not supervised running sessions.

Athletes leave every session with a better understanding of how they move, why it matters, and a clear plan for what they need to improve to perform at the next level.
